Name: Justin Beach on Nov 29, 2006Comments: When Canadians tell Canadian stories, not to appease advertisers or out of other commercial interests- but because they have something to say, that is public broadcasting - it is our constant national town-hall meeting, how we learn about ourselves, each other, and gather the information vital to democracy - and all other national institutions are greatly diminished without it.Flag

Name: Jason Paris on Nov 29, 2006Comments: Pubcasting is more important now than ever. Most Canadians are behind this, when will the government catch-up with Canadians opinion and start funding our largest cultural institution at a level comparable to most other western countriesFlag

Name: Dwight Williams on Nov 29, 2006Comments: Fiscal starvation of the CBC is no longer tolerable, given the level and quality of service that the Corporation has continued to provide in spite of all obstacles placed in its way. Shutdown and privatisation are also equally intolerable to me. The CBC is, to me and many others, as essential a service as Medicare and the Canadian Forces, to name but two.Flag

Name: Dale Marsden on Nov 30, 2006Comments: We need a Canadiana-motivated network for more than just cultural reasons. Left to its own, the Canadian television industry will drift south to cash in on obvious economies of scale, costing us more in losses than the CBC would ever cost us in funding.Flag

Name: Trevor Weeks on Dec 7, 2006Comments: Every Canadian child is born of three parents; a mother, a father, and the CBC. The CBC helped teach me to count, write, and create. It is every Canadians third parent and the only reason I know of the Canadian artists and personalities that I know. David Suzuki and other genius minds like his would have a much smaller voice if any at all without CBC. Our French brothers and sisters would be limited to express themselves in Quebec only. Without the CBC we would hear only Bob Dylan and no Gordon Lightfoot, We would hear only Woody Guthrie, and no Stompin Tom. Please, please, please increase the funding of our beloved flag waving parent, The CBC.Flag
