The Department of Transportation has confirmed that rumble strips and enhanced signage are being installed at the intersection of GA Highway 151 and Highway 27. I am monitoring the project timeline to confirm the work is completed as promised. Thank you for maintaining the pressure required to reach this resolution.
This petition is for concerned citizens of walker county and surrounding areas to show the need for rumble strips or a caution light to be put in at the intersection of GA HWY 151 S and Hwy 27. On the 13th of December 2014 my father, beloved by many, was tragically taken from us at this intersection by someone running the stop sign on hwy 151 S that crosses over the 4 lane HWY 27. My father was traveling in the fast lane. Because of my fathers passing I have heard many stories of wrecks at this site and I was told that in the past there was another fatality. I hope that is not true because something should have been put in place then. So please sign this petition if you believe some sort of HWY caution should be placed at this stop sign intersection. Thanks and kiss your loved ones.
I am currently organizing the collected signature data to present to the Department of Transportation office. My next step involves securing a formal meeting with local officials to discuss specific safety improvements for the intersection.

I personally watched a life get taken away by someone running this stop sign. There definitely needs to be a red light here. I grew up on Halls Valley Rd my whole life and can't count the deaths thats occurred throughout the years.

A red light is the only answer. There are too many idiots that drive through this intersection that do not know the basic rules of the road. So many cars pull out in front of me from 151 as I am turning south. I think they must believe it is a four way stop.

I live on Halls Valley Rd and travel by it every day. I have said for years that there should be a red light. I have heard a lot of ambulances come my way. I am tired of it. The county can spend $35,000 on Christmas lights, why not a red light?

I travel thru this intersection everyday. Just this week someone knocked the stop sign down again. There have been several bad accidents in this intersection. I believe it is s poorly designed intersection.
