We need to have cats removed from the new bi-law that was just passed (marginally) by our elected officials in City Hall. What a waste of our hard earned money. They need to put their time, energy, and money into keeping our streets safe, providing affordable housing, feeding the hungry, fixing the roads so our vehicles are not ruined. This bi-law is certainly not enforceable and is setting the scene for cats to be tortured in cages and many will be killed. How cruel!

Whoever came up with and pushed for it to go through was obviously not a cat owner and knows nothing about cats. The problem is with irresponsible cat owners that should not own cats in the first place because they do not care for them properly, do not have them spayed/castrated, and do not provide them with veterinary care as needed. Cats sometimes wander onto a neighbour's property or sneak out the door and take off. In these cases it will be the responsible owners that end up being hurt by this when their beloved, long time pet suddenly goes missing.
