The Campaign for Te Abolition of the Schizophrenia Label.
Bullets and bombs can hurt, but never underestimate the power of language. Some words can destroy a life, some words can take away hope and potential. some words can kill. Schizophrenia is just such a word.We the undersigned are calling for the label of schizophrenia to be abolished because it is unscientific, stigmatising and does not address the root causes of serious mental distress. Replacing schizophrenia with more meaningful and morally acceptable terminology will offer a more realistic hope of recovery to those across the world who experience mental health problems.
