Comments: It is vital to keep these eyes and ears in the stations, not just for safety, but to answer questions and otherwise aid system users. The root of the problem, however, is a broken funding system. The State Senate has utterly failed to adequately fund mass transit for years, going back to the Pataki administration.

Comments: PLEASE do not close the station booth at President St, we need a human presence at the stop....I am a local business owner and people are already upset about the mess at Carroll St with the construction. Things are tough enough for small business right now without the MTA making it even more inconvenient for my customers to reach me.

Comments: In the rush to suit developers, the MTA has forgotten that their primary customer is riding passengers. It is absurd that people should have to walk three quarters of a mile from a usable station to get on the Warren St. entrance. It is not large enough to accommodate such crowding. At the very least the station agent should be maintained and one end of the station kept open during the construction.

Comments: This station needs to remain open for security reasons first of all, and for maintenance and the efficient operation of a transit system that needs overseeing in a densely populated area of Brooklyn. In addtion I recommend based on population,l this station not be skipped during the express routing.

Comments: To Whom It May Concern: The simutaneous closing of the Carroll St station main entrance and the removal of the only station agent for this busy stop presents safety and security issues to the thousands of riders who use this station daily. To think that the MTA management considers these choices remotely acceptable for the next 12 months (LOL) is completely ridiculous. I do not accept that cost cutting entails removing the only available safety net for riders; we have no PA system, no digitalized signage, no camera surveillance, no station assistance of any kind as it is. Without the station agent riders are vulnerable to any number of dangers. The silent, unsupervised station is an invitation to trouble, innocent or otherwise. We, the CGNA and the community, will be working with our elected officials and the MTA to find a safe and reasonable solution to get the work done and maintain the safety and well being of the ridership. We are interested in improving service on a line that needs improvement, rather than making it more difficult and less safe for residents. Sincerely, Maria Pagano

Comments: It s important that MTA-insure us- that they will keep our Mta Station agent booth- Its for the heavy foot traffic we have at all hours - its for the future- with the Viaduct project- for the safety reasons- without this there will be increased tempers of riders, as it is now to the changed times due to summer hours as well as the MTA-workers with the new tracks. Please take this in consideration.

Comments: Also severely impacting the safety and convenience of subway riders is the imminent construction and existing barricading at the 2nd Place entrance to the Carroll Street Station. This situation, which will probably continue on for at least another year and one half, has undoubtedly caused many subway customers to use the President Street entrance, all the more reason the Token Booth at this entrance should remain active and manned full time.
