People with hearing loss are excluded from many if not all of these. Please help make these situations accessable to people with hearing loss. Thank you.Flag

Name: Victoria Schmitz on Sep 10, 2007State: CACountry: USComments: I fully support the idea of requiring closed captioning to all programing. Growing up with a brother who is hard of hearing, it was so hard knowing that he was constantly missing out on the shows that we were watching and missing out crucial learning provided by the television. Now that technology provides such a wonderful service, why in the world wouldn't all programing be closed captioned I offer this challenge to all of you: Try to watch your television for just one full evening with no sound, and get a feeling of how the deaf community feels.....compassion people, how much trouble would it be to help out the hearing impared This small jesture would make a WORLD of difference. Thank you, and blessings to you all. Victoria SchmitzFlag

I feel so guilty when I enjoy watching a movie because I know that my sister cannot. Although movie theaters now show captioned movies, there is usually only one or two movies that offer captioning and only about one or two weekday morning showtimes available. Does that sound fair to you.Flag

Name: Ryan Schaub on Feb 6, 2008State: OHCountry: USComments: I agree that the including of closed captioning should ,although not required (i'm sorry but it is a free market guys), be included in the release of new media. It is simply lazy and unthoughtful on the end of the producers of media. I personally do not need closed captioning to enjoy programming, but there are many times I will put it on and the captioning is garbage text. Simply unacceptable.Flag

When my little sister was learning to read, we used the captions and subtitles on movies to help her remember easy words to spell. It worked wonders, it just sucks that not all programs are closed captioned.Flag
