The School Board of Alachua County has banned our Capoiera club at Eastside High School in Gainesville, Florida. They banned for the reason of liability issues. I believe that the decision made by the school board is wrong, because our parents gave us permission to do Capoiera with written documentation and signature approval. The written document states that our school is not held responsible for any injuries. Furthermore, we are only learning the basics of Capoiera. Also, we understand that Capoiera is a dangerous martial art and we are aware of possible self-injuries. Moreover, we are willing to raise money for insurance to get our club running again. I want to petition with the behalf of my fellow students in our club against this decision by the school board. Please sign this petition to help our case.
