J A Mason | Pubs and clubs are rapidly closing in the area where I live,. Bingo halls are struggling. People are going to have no social lives due to this smoking ban.
Sharron Harries | Pruod to be a smoker - law abiding citizen paying lots of money into the public purse through tax on cigarettes, so worthy of being given equal consideration when deciding on issues that effect ALL of the public.

Stephen Powell | Can we have a common Sense party???
Anonymous | We, as smokers, are being discriminated against. Look what happened in South Africa and America when there was discrimination against Blacks.
Marie Page |
James Mackay | I totally agree with all this, its stupid what they are doing, the law should have been thaught out properly and not just put into place without thinking of the concequences. Plenty of places have closed or gone out of business but the government doesn't care. Its time we got a fucking new one.

Stephen Bell | This is not just about smoking - it is about dignity, respect, human rights and state control. No majority wanted a total ban on smoking in public places, just a few pressure groups (ASH) and some militant individuals. More people are becoming aware of the precedent this is setting and the future implications. Add to this that traditional pubs are being closed at an unprecedented rate, jobs are being lost, and the country is in general financial meltdown as I write. Those politicians who believe in basic liberties, if not basic economics, should take note of this and consider their positions.
chris horrocks | the smoking ban stinks and so does this country i will never vote again
Mark Owen |
Mrs Sharon Richards | This use to be a country where we had freedom of speech and have control over our own lives but now we are forced to do what the government wants and we dare not voice our opinions for fear of being fined, I have lost all faith in the dictators of this country.

Sarah Checksfield | Sounds more than reasonable to me
Marina Nenadic |
J A Mason | It's time to chamge tha ban, before we have no social life left, so many pubs and clubs are closing,
T Bramley |
Kevin knight | The smoking ban needs amensing, so as to give us back freedom of choice
| 30 | Anonymous | the smoking ban although good in some places needs serious revision.
for example open air train platforms could easily be sectioned to allow smokers the opportunity of one last smoke before begining a long journey. |
sam melland | our """"private""""" members club will close down in 6 months because of smokin ban renderin me a student jobless therefore homeless is this human rights??????????????????????
lyla horley |
simon boorn |
Brenda Orsler | Disgusted with the smoking ban and will only consider voting for a party that will overturn the ban.
Anonymous | Ban the Ban!
John Earle | i'm a 44 year old smoker by personal choice. I would rather the government I helped to elect help me with my problem of heat or eat, this is not just a pensioner issue
jennifer lockyer |
gareth lunt |
katherine jones | i certainly wont vote!
Kyle Bolton | Smoking in pubs and clubs is one of those traditions that shouldn't be changed. I think it's our right to smoke, forcing us to go outside specially during winter is against everything that is right. I know that some people don't smoke. But alot of the non-smokers agree with me that smoking in pubs isn't a problem.
Gez Shipley | tell us we have to smoke outside but its a 50 quid fine for droppin a cigarette butt.... onto a good un there aint ya... wankers

Joseph Hunter | I've been out in pubs a mere handfull of times since the ban and it's never been as full or as fun. My friends who don't smoke have also noticed this and would have no problems with the ban being altered or lifted
karen harris | I have voted Labour all my adult life but the present Government are a disgrace to the traditions of the Labour party-they ignore the ground swell of public oppinion over every issue and are destroying British traditions and ways of life for ever-the smoking ban was a badly conceived and thought out ban that was influenced by pharmaceutical companies using "charities" like ASH as a cover-CAN'T SMOKE WONT VOTE LABOUR-EVER
mike | the Government ignored 500,000 anti Iraq war protestors and are destroying our pub trade. Count me in,my nearest pub is now 14 miles away because my local has closed-thats great for global warming isn't it Nu Labour-count me in.
michael silvester |
Tom Smith | I agree 100%
Anonymous | any one got a cig?
Michael Ritchie |
Emma Tanner | I totally agree with this, they supply the fags but no where to smoke them, either ban them all together (which will never happen cos they make too much money out of the tax they charge) or supply places for us to smoke, its discrimination pure and simple!!!
