Comments: I agree 100% with the petition statement, this is getting way out of control and the films are being completely trashed and hold nothing to the originals, they are a complete waste of space and cator to people who hate the genre, but now like it because it has been watered down, I will not buy the dvd, or go see the movie if this happens, I can only hope that other people realize what complete garbage remakes are and boycott it as well...

Comments: I thought all you people went to film school to help inovate movies, and all I'm seeing is remakes, sequals and prequals. So what, are ya gonna do Try to capitalize on the name and say the remake will appeal to a whole new generation and will be done to pay homage to the original. Yeah, I've been fed that lie before. And telling me that the remake is going to be as good as the original is BS. Like the MPAA, being as strict as they are, are going to let you kill animals for real. Like you guys have the imagination to pull off real gore and not use CG. And I really hate it when the producers' say it'll apeal to a new generation. If that was the case, Gone with the Wind would've already been remade at least twice. In fact, call Cronenberg, tell him to remake sum artsy fartsy piece of shit that Hollywood loves so much and add his Scanners, Shivers, Rabid style twist to it. If this movie is made. I'm gonna' have a big picket sign of the impaled girl from the original, and yell "I WANT GORE!!!! No HOLLYWOOD WHORE!!!! Kill the Remake. Kill the Producers. And kill the Lame Os, who've never seen the original classic. --Ranarchy

Comments: Let them try, then laugh when they fail. For they will fail just like every other two-bit producer in the past who attempted to remake something for sake of making a quick dollar by exploiting the successes of the past. This is just another example of the lack of creativity amongst the more mainstream film makers of today.

Comments: I don't see what the point of remaking this film is. This isn't the kind of movie thast needs to be remade and polished into a shiny gem. Just leave well enough alone and let the people who are meant to enjoy it do so.

Comments: Why on Gods Green Earth would anyone do something like this Congratulations on ruining countless movies that I used to enjoy. Now, please get your greasy money hungry fingers off of my Cannibal Holocaust. Don't even bother. No one will ever make a better ultra disturbing native rape scene, and your turtle eating scene will be laughable. You can use all the fancy CGI you want, but the outcome will still be laughable and in the ends you will all be hanging your heads in shame.

Comments: This truly has to be the biggest joke of a remake idea so far! I mean nice as it would be to have most modern Hollywood actors disembowled and cannibalised, I don't think the same needs to be done to yet another genre landmark. Much of what makes the original so fierce, confrontational and controversial is actually its content of animal cruelty. This is something I obviously strongly oppose as a vegan, but I don't see how anybody can honestly think that they can remake a film to the same level of intensity and ferocity as the original without stooping to the same level of exploitation cinema tactics This can only be seen as yet more watering down of a genre landmark for mainstream consumption and a fast buck. It's laughable that for years the studio system condemed exploitation / grindhouse cinema to the point of driving it pretty much out of business, but these days with nothing but continous remakes and "homage" (plagiarism by any other name) that same system sees fit to pluder what it once opposed.
