We the undersigned respectfully demand tax equality within the City of Danbury.
Current taxes on waterfront properties are disproportionately higher than the rest of the city based on an opinion that values of these properties have remained higher than the rest of the market. We know this to not be true and that in truth since 2008 there has been a very considerable decrease in property values consistent with the rest of the city.
We feel strongly that our 2013 and 2014 tax bills have been erroneously inflated and request a reevaluation of our properties. We request that this reevaluation adjust our taxes moving forward and we further request that we receive a rebate for taxes over-paid in 2013 and 2014.
