Did you know that according to the Globe and Mail, the current Canadian cover price for a book is approximately 36% higher than the US price ( http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20060627.wxrbooks27/BNStory/Business/home ) I am no longer willing to accept that difference.
I am becoming increasingly disgusted with the glaringly obvious discrepancies present in the pricing of new books. It is not unusual for the Canadian price of a book to be over 30% higher than the US price for the same book. The cover prices of books in no way accurately express the current US-Canadian dollar exchange rate. With the Canadian dollar currently being very high, this discrepancy has become little more than a price gouge.
I am writing to inform you that so long as the pricing of books continues in it's current vein, I will no longer be purchasing books. I will also be encouraging my family and friends to follow suit. It is obvious from the current situation that neither sellers nor the publishers are willing to keep the publishing industry fair, and are therefore losing my business. Until you are willing to rectify the situation, I will be seeking my reading material elsewhere.
total price gouging. stopped buying new hardcovers in stores years ago because of this nonsense.

its honestly ridiculous when i see the two prices printed on the back. why are we paying way more for the exact same item? just drive across the border to get a better deal.

So tired of Canadian consumers getting ripped off every single time. Fix your pricing or stop wondering why everyone is buying online from the states instead!
