Name: Adrian Lewis on Mar 8, 2007Comments: I also agree especially when Provincial and Federal Parks are waisting our tax $$$ with their $40,000.00 to $80,000.00 budgets for new campsites. Tax refusal is a must. If they are paying for their insurance on top of taxes, this will hurt the private sector.Flag

Name: Donald Whitworth on Mar 12, 2007Comments: The benefits are for the residence of the Municipality. These benefits are created by having seasonal campers sites. Seasonal campers = influx of $. How the municipality collect taxes to cover their programs should be equitable to all business owners who profit from the seasonal campsites. The private campsite is providing a service that gives more opportunity for the residences of the region. This also leads to growth. So I would suggest that if the taxes are seen as unfair to the seasonal campers, growth becomes negative which leads to less services required = less $ for the town.Flag

Name: Maretta Philippon on Mar 14, 2007Comments: Provincial campgrounds & private sector campgrounds should operate on a level playing field. It is unfair business practice for the government to operate tax subsidized campgrounds in direct competition to private owners who must operate under much more stringent guidelines put in place by that same government.Flag
