A Seasonal Camper parked at a Manitoba Provincial Park is exempt from paying any Municipal tax. Yet should the exact same camper choose to park at a private campground, they are now subject to Municipal taxes and Licence fees or RV Assessment. Manitoba Provincial Parks run at a loss every year with tax dollars subsidizing them. It is not fair for people who do not use Provincial Parks to have to subsidize those who do with tax dollars. Provincial Parks should be self sufficient. The fees should reflect the actual costs of operating. Manitoba Provincial Parks have the lowest camping rates in the country. Lower fees feed the out-of town stigma that Manitoba is a \"Have-Not\" Province with low quality campgrounds in comparison to the rest of the country. Many tourists drive straight through our Province thinking it is not worthwhile to stay over. Since the Provincial Park\'s campers pay no Municipal Tax, campers who choose to camp in Privately owned parks should also be exempt making camping affordable to all families and walks of life no matter where they are camped. The unfair taxation system creates unfair competition to the private campground industry. Please view the 4 links located on the right side of this page. I believe that all Campers, no matter where they are camped, should not be subject to Municipal Tax/Licence Fees on RV Trailers.
