Mr Premier, in your own words, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. Either fix the problem or resign. If you can't do the job you are a waste of public money.Flag

Name: James Mitchell on Nov 13, 2007Comments: For years I have been angered by the ineptitude of DOCs in providing even the must basic care for children. Almost as bad is the treatment DOCs dishes out to the brave souls who undertake the task of foster carers for themFlag

Name: Anonymous on Nov 13, 2007Comments: This is the most impotent of government departments. Children don't have to be taken out of parents care but the poor parents need to be reminded that the children could. There needs to be discipline for abusive parents. The government is quick to investment money where they get a return i.e poker machines, redlight and speed camera's.Flag

Name: Tiane Wilson on Nov 13, 2007Comments: I agree with the petition for a royal commission into the management of DOCs. I think the commission should also look at the staffing levels, and the experience of staff, and the impossible funding they are given to work wwith from our government.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Nov 13, 2007Comments: If labor win the federal election this state goverment will be allowed to 'spin doctor' away all of their deficiencies. The public will be denied and decieved ad infinitum. Just refer to the complete inaction by all State governments on indiginous child abuse over many years. The print media has an obligation to inform the public on issues of importance both federal and state and stop pandering to the spin doctors who only want us to see the likes of Kev07 being mobbed by teeny boppers, or John Howard kissing his grandson (lovely though that might be). The print media needs to take much of the responsibility for the sad state of NSW (and other states) by continually being dictated to by politician's publicity machines and not having the intenstinal fortitude to stand up to them for fear of retribution at a later date I congratulate the Daily Telegraph for finally taking a stand, one can only hope that other editors wil take your lead (but I doubt it)Flag

Name: Maggie Ward-Pearson on Nov 13, 2007Comments: I have been writing letters to Policticains for over thirty years now and nothing has changed. Child abuse is just too hard for them to comprehend and I was told that children are unreliable at giving testimony, that they are easily intimidated and abusers walk free more often than not. Police advised us not to put our children though abuse twice.Flag
