It is a meeting place, a place where friendships are developed, and an invaluable technical resource for Caltech students and staff.Flag

Name: Eric Olmon on Nov 20, 2012Comments: As a student-oriented space, the recording studio is a rarity among institutions of education. Access to professional-level equipment breeds creativity, and the ability and encouragement to create is one of the things that makes Caltech special. It's an incredibly valuable resource. Please give it a place in the Hameetman Center.Flag

Name: Christopher Echols on Nov 20, 2012Comments: The Recording Studio is such an amazing resource for Caltech! I wish we had it when I was a student. You really can't be involved in music in the 21st Century without some sort of facility for recording. It's become an integral part of the process. You can't have a music program, jazz band, concert band, and all the student bands without a recording facility. The big studios are dying; it's now the era of the small project studio. And the Caltech Recording Studio is an excellent small project studio. It's a great match for the creative and talented students at Caltech. Music is, and should continue to be, an important part of the culture of Caltech. Please make every effort to keep and maintain the Caltech Recording Studio. Best Regards, Christopher Echols BS '96 (Dabney)Flag

Students can go beyond just "jamming" to leave a lasting, sonic record of student life at Caltech. Please keep the recording studio a part of the new Hameetman Center!Flag

This is one of the greatest things about being on campus and I hope it grows over the next couple of years (we could use a few more amps and a nicer bass guitar in the room).Flag
