Name: Christian Lopez on Dec 12, 2009Comments: I would welcome having a bed and breakfast in this region. Normally, when I visit this region, I drive out and back on the same day and don't have the time to frequent the local businesses. If I had this option as a place to spend the night, it would give me a place to clean up after a day of Off Highway Vehicle recreation and I'd have more of an opportunity to spend money in the area. We like areas where we can stay the night and tend to often visit places like Lone Pine, Mammoth, Shaver Lake and Lake Tahoe, because of this. Let's compare this with one of my other hobbies, which is scuba. I get together with groups of people up and down the coast to dive from the beach or to go out on a boat. We generally stay one or two nights in Santa Barbara, Ventura, Long Beach or La Jolla. Our dive group spends hundreds of dollars for food and entertainment each night, because we have a place to stay. The 3 story dome house is already there. To not take advantage of something that can help bring revenue to the area at no cost to the county makes no sense. This is especially true when one realizes that the other option being considered is the removal of this building, which will actually cost the taxpayers money. Please allow this bed and breakfast an opportunity to bring more business to this region. ChristianFlag

Name: Matt Vassek on Dec 12, 2009Comments: If the state has no idea what to do with it and doesn't have the funding available to finish building it. Then instead of spending money to demolish it they should allow the petitioner to continue forward and make a bed and breakfast out of it. That option is a win win situation.Flag

Name: Jeff Komulaine on Dec 13, 2009Comments: What the author of this petition proposes makes very good sense. In my opinion, for the County of San Bernadino to move forward with demolition goes hand-in-hand with everything the State of California does, which never makes sense. Demolition: County spends money Approval of Bed & Breakfast project: County makes money My signature is in support of transforming the property in question into a Bed & Breakfast.Flag

If the county can't decide... let the residents and possible future tourists decide. The B and B idea is a great one.Flag

Name: Jesse Earl on Dec 19, 2009Comments: I would like to see an asset become more of an asset than less, the idea of a bed and breakfast is an appealing one, I camp out at Calico quite often and because the cabins get full sometimes when it's windy it sucks. I would say that if since nothing else has been proposed for the site, let them build and create revenue! the county cannot loose when the investment is nothing more than a permit to operate.Flag

Name: Karl Sliver on Dec 29, 2009Comments: I believe this is a very worth while idea bringing in a small business opportunity in the local area. It allows those of us visiting family and friends the opportunity to stay outside the normal hotel atmosphere in a B/B with the comforts of home as well as enjoy all the scenery the high desert has to offer. It would also allow those who travel through the area the same opportunities thus bringing in further revenue to other locale businesses. ThanksFlag

Name: Jean-Pierre Badon on Dec 30, 2009Comments: The bed in breakfast in Calico is a great idea. First, I must say for all of us who live in Barstow know that there isn't much to choose from when comes to hotels. So why not bring in a fresh business to that area. The bed and breakfast would definitely be a great place to make some good revenue just from the locals alone. Also you must remember all the people traveling across the 15 freeway would generate much more. The possibilities are endless....Flag
