Comments: The explanation for ending Pat's site is one of the dumbest things I've heard. So go to whatever scale they want, I can probably do the math. The NWS is still proving it can't accurately forecast waves since Pat's site has been down.

Comments: Local surfers need the forecast. But, all the forecasts should be the same. The hawaiian way. News and other local links should all have the same forecast. They also should have the "california" way for tourists. All should be clear and simple to understand. Maybe with graphs which should be standard one graph with both messurements. People who check surf should be smart enough to understand the scale, but then again.... Aloha hope to see you back online soon.

Comments: As a Master Paragliding instructor and owner of Gravity Sports here in Hawaii, I have come to rely on Pat's forecasts to determine if it is safe to fly, and if it is not. Due to the extreme changes in our weather here in the islands every bit of intelligent, local weather forecasting is appreciated by me and by my fellow pilots. Bring Back Pat's forecasts... Maybe a local cable access show like the Maui guy would be the answer Pete Michelmore Gravity Hawaii

Comments: I agree with the comments above - If the State of Hawaii want to depict an accurate and correct forecast, they should build host the page to assume the liability while using Pat's information to populate the data on the page.

Comments: Bring it back, it was the best report we had for hawaii. It also was the most accurate and up to date report there is. And if tourists can't figure out that the waves are to big to go out in, then they don't belong on the beach in the first place. the report is for surfers, not tourists!!! Thanks pat, and keep up the good work...

Comments: Aloha, strongly involved with the watersports community, Hawaiian XTreme Sports Television would like to voice its support to the continuance of Pat's wave/swell forecast. The subject of face wave height vs Hawaiian style measurement is irrelevant to Pat's widely used forecast. His page offered both measurements (for the confused) and is a crucial tool for all ocean users. We pledge for the return of Pat Caldwell's forecast for the safety and enjoyment of all. Sincerely, Alex Reinprecht - Producer Hawaiian Xtreme Sports Inc 737 Bishop Street # 1430 Honolulu HI 96813 Tel: 808 256 - 3993 Fax: 808 735 - 9092

Comments: The NWS is unsafe for beach and bay surf forcasts as it has always been lacking any difinitive information. IE: swell direction, est. time of arrival. The NWS will no even do a probability for events. NO WONDER THE TV FORCASTERS COME UP WITH THEIR OWN SYNOPSIS.

Comments: I want to see Caldwell's surf forecast site reinstated! Caldwell is by far the best and most accurate for Hawaii. I would also like to see the size reported in "local scale" as that is the language understood and spoken by the users of the site, citizens of Hawaii.
