Name: Scott Carvill on Nov 7, 2002State: HICountry: USComments: The explanation for ending Pat's site is one of the dumbest things I've heard. So go to whatever scale they want, I can probably do the math. The NWS is still proving it can't accurately forecast waves since Pat's site has been down.Flag

Name: Fabian Frick on Nov 7, 2002State: HICountry: USComments: Local surfers need the forecast. But, all the forecasts should be the same. The hawaiian way. News and other local links should all have the same forecast. They also should have the "california" way for tourists. All should be clear and simple to understand. Maybe with graphs which should be standard one graph with both messurements. People who check surf should be smart enough to understand the scale, but then again.... Aloha hope to see you back online soon.Flag

Name: Pete Michelmore on Nov 7, 2002State: HICountry: USComments: As a Master Paragliding instructor and owner of Gravity Sports here in Hawaii, I have come to rely on Pat's forecasts to determine if it is safe to fly, and if it is not. Due to the extreme changes in our weather here in the islands every bit of intelligent, local weather forecasting is appreciated by me and by my fellow pilots. Bring Back Pat's forecasts... Maybe a local cable access show like the Maui guy would be the answer Pete Michelmore Gravity HawaiiFlag

Name: Charles Harlan on Nov 8, 2002State: HICountry: USComments: Bring it back, it was the best report we had for hawaii. It also was the most accurate and up to date report there is. And if tourists can't figure out that the waves are to big to go out in, then they don't belong on the beach in the first place. the report is for surfers, not tourists!!! Thanks pat, and keep up the good work...Flag

Name: Alexander Reinprecht on Nov 8, 2002State: HICountry: USComments: Aloha, strongly involved with the watersports community, Hawaiian XTreme Sports Television would like to voice its support to the continuance of Pat's wave/swell forecast. The subject of face wave height vs Hawaiian style measurement is irrelevant to Pat's widely used forecast. His page offered both measurements (for the confused) and is a crucial tool for all ocean users. We pledge for the return of Pat Caldwell's forecast for the safety and enjoyment of all.
