We are residents of Oshawa who have live on Lavender Court in Oshawa. We have a pop up tent trailer that we keep in our driveway over the summer. This trailer is moved to a permanent storage area in the fall, winter and spring. We recently received a $500 ticket indicated that we have controvened the Oshawa Bylaw for permanent storage. All utility trailers, camping trailers and boats fall into this category. Conversation with a Whitby By-law officer has indicated that they are in the process of considering an amendment to their bylaw which would to allow for temporary storage for the summer months May 15- June 15. As per the conversation with the Whiby bylaw officer, all complaints currently received by the Town of Whitby are filed and not actioned. We are asking for your support for an alteration similiar to that of the Town of Whitby, that Oshawa bylaw ------ be altered to allow for temporary storage between the dates of May 15- Sept 15. This will allow those who bring their recreational vehicles home to use for the summer to keep them in their driveway over the summer months.
