Nigel Hudson, United Kingdom4 years ago Comments: The nurseries provide an excellent facility which our eldest daughter has benefitted from greatly. It was our intention to send our youngest daughter there as well so hearing the news that the nurseries are going to close is greatly depressing. This all relates to the fact that the trust has to subsidise the nurseries but there has been no request of the parents to increase the amount of money being charged as it is believed that this would price the nurseries out of the market. One fact that seems to be missing in all of this is peace of mind. We have placed our daughter in the nursery for the learning environment AND the proximity to our place of work. It is not only convenient but comforting to know that she is only a couple of hundred yards down a road as opposed to a mile or so away, which would be our next choice of nursery. Should there be any issues I can be there quickly. This is a convenience I would be more than happy to help fund. From my point of view, the decision to close the nursery has been a snap decision and one that should be deferred until ALL possible alternatives have been examined, including that of increasing the charges.
