Worried about the future of the University of Illinois… and your own retirement program?
Some colleagues have complained that the unions are too hard on the university administration, that the fault lies in Springfield, that if pressure is to be applied, it should be applied there. Here is their big chance – and yours.
LOBBY DAY, APRIL 21, 2010,
FOURTH COMMON FURLOUGH/ACTION DAY
Join thousands of other educators from throughout the state to press the legislature for adequate higher education funding, a commitment to honor the guarantees regarding SURS and other retirement systems, affordable tuition rates, and funding for financial aid. Student access to institutions like Illinois should be on the basis of talent and not ability to pay high tuition.
The bus ride is free and food will be provided, but the important thing is that you will be able to say that you acted in support of quality public higher education in its moment of greatest peril.
To reserve your seat on the bus (leaving around 8 am and returning in the late afternoon), sign below, including contact information. For further information, contact CFA at email@example.com.
