Each year thousands of children are injured and dozens more are killed by motorists while boarding and exiting the bus. Operation Safe STOP! is asking for your signatures in support of the Safe Bus Stop Initiative. Similar laws have been passed in other states, and it's time Georgia follows suit. We are petitioning the Georgia Legislature to adopt the Safe Bus Stop Initiative into law, which would include mandatory stop arm cameras on all buses to catch passing motorist violations as well to implement state-wide education regarding the safety of our children at school bus stops and heighten the awareness and education of the general public sharing roadways with our precious cargo.
