Save our WW2 heritage site - Bushey Hall
To protect A Part Of our Local and National Wartime Heritage. The Lincolnsfields Childrens Centre is based on the original WW2 site of Bushey Hall Headquarters of the 8th U.S.A.A.F. Fighter Command [Codename AJAX], from 1942 to 1946. In the Fifties this site then became an important Cold War period Anti Aircraft establishment. As a condition of a planning permission granted by Hertsmere Borough Council in March 2004 the new owners of part of the land now intend to shortly demolish ALL the remaining twelve (12) World War 2 buildings on the entire site. Since 2007 the Childrens Centre charity has organised a very successful 1940s War time History education programme. We the undersigned urgently request that this demolition should be prevented and that these important WW2 historic buildings are retained and renovated for future educational and heritage use:
