Name: Anonymous on Dec 20, 2006Comments: disgraceful verdict by the FA, only because we're a lower league team, and refuse to dish out the appropriate punishment to premierhip teams when they clearly break the rules by fielding a reserve team. BURY FC REINSTATED!Flag

Name: G.A.Challis on Dec 20, 2006Comments: To impose the maximum sentence in a case such as this seems to me to be excessive. This would never happen in a Court of Law. Premiership teams regularly flout the rules of the competition by fielding weakend sides when playing teams from the lower leagues and no sanctions are imposed on them. In this case, the punishment is manifestly excessive.Flag

Is this the price you now pay for honesty Does A small administration error really constitute being thrown out of the competition that Chris Casper and the players have worked so hard to progress in Nothing short of a disgrace! Good luck Bury.Flag

Name: Fiona Mackay on Dec 20, 2006Comments: i think it's a very harsh punishment that the FA handed out to Bury fc. They are a hardworking honest club who when realised their mistake informed you immediately, which if they didnt do then then this matter would proberly of gone unnoticed. when i was growing up i was always told honestly was the best policy and things will be better for owning up and telling the truth. it must just be a northern thing because that obviously isnt the case. Bury beat Chester city fair and square on the replay. they were the better team and deserved to win. Turnbull didnt play much part of the game and the scoreline would still be the same. Bury won that game through hard work and merit, and one honest mistake has meant that all that has gone down the drain. Bury had recieved permisson of the parent club to play Turnbull, and the intention was there for it to be sent to the FA, there was no intention to cheat our way into the third round. i would like the FA to review the punishment issued to Bury FC and a fine or the game to be replayed instead.Flag

Name: Graeme Walters on Dec 20, 2006Comments: An absolute disgrace, but not surprising at all when it comes to the weak-kneed yes men at the English FA. I wonder if the same punishment would have been dished out if the culprit was one of our wonderful Premiership clubs Somehow I doubt it very much! The FA have again showed they are the 'sheriff of Nottingham' of football in this country.Rob from the poor and give to the rich....Flag

Name: Stephen McGrann on Dec 20, 2006Comments: My Point is simple. Why have Leeds United recently been fined only £2k, deducted no points and allowed to stay in their competition after what must have been a clear rule break that they never owned up to - it was discovered by the FA whereas Bury are ejected after an insignificant error that if it hadn't been owned up to would never have been spoken of again. Bury FC should be commended for their honesty and not punished.Flag

Name: Jack Oates on Dec 20, 2006Comments: What's the difference between the West Ham incident and the Bury incident Absolutely nothing! The FA should be ashamed by their decision - no way are they fit enough to run our league's. I'm not a Bury fan but I feel the whole thing is utterly scandelous - the worst punishment - the WORST - is that the game should have been re-played.Flag

I think the fairest thing for both sides would be a replay. Thank you to the people who have showed there support so far.Flag

Name: Matt Loxham on Dec 20, 2006Comments: This is a disgrace. Bury field one ineligible player and are kicked out of the world's finest cup competition, costing them over £50,000. Leeds United do the same in a league game, and are fined £1,000. To say this is double standards against a small, unfashionable team, is an understatement of rather large proportions.Flag
