Building Lives is an award-winning social enterprise that focuses on recruiting young people from some of the toughest boroughs in London and equipping them with the skills to gain paid apprenticeships in the construction industry.

Through an unfortunate and untimely issue, the currentfunding for this enterprise will come to an end just four months short of the new academic year.

This has a huge impact on the ambitions of almost200 young students at the Building Lives Academy, as they will be forced off their course before they can graduate.

These young people, from some of the most socially disadvantaged areas of London, have made a conscious decision to improve their prospects in life by embarking on these training courses.

It would be a travesty if our industry cannot find the funding to secure their futures and give them the opportunity to graduate with the skills necessary to apply for paid apprenticeships and contribute positively to society.
