Name: Linda Coleman on Jan 23, 2007Comments: I'm a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church, and I support the Methodist leadership who oppose the library being located at SMU. Nothing about Bush's presidency reflects the values of the United Methodist Church. One bishop did a TV ad opposing the Iraq war--Bush didn't listen. We wrote letters, we protested in the streets, and he didn't listen to us. On the war, he reminds me more of Pharoh than John Wesley. On every issue--stewardship of the environment, for instance--Bush has run contrary to our Book of Discipline, so I do not feel it's appropriate for the library to be on the grounds of an institution run by the United Methodist Church. As for Brownwood--there's probably more room out there. It's already a traffic jam in the proposed location, Highland Park. Even if it were a president I liked, I'd still say no to putting an attraction of that size in Highland Park. There's just not room for it.Flag

You boys should start a petition to build the Rainbow Gay Heritage museum instead. It might even qualify as a freak show, especially if you two show up.Flag
