We take seriously the recent allegations against certain employees and students of the University of Colorado (CU). At the same time, we decry the sensationalist media coverage around these events, and the irresponsible rush to judgment urged by some. We support the stated intention of the CU Administration, Regents and Independent Investigative Commission to undertake a careful review of the facts, and await their considered judgments. We would urge that any subsequent measures taken are proportionate and just, and unbiased by the present atmosphere of rampant and unfounded speculation. |
