We propose the following changes to the Buffalo Pub Poker Quarterly Tournament structure. We believe that these changes will:

1) provide for a more competitive and rewarding experience for players who have spent countless hours playing their way into the tournament

2) effectively increase the time and money spent by players at the hosting venue.

Proposed changes:
- offer a larger starting chip stack size for players. 10,000 is a standard number that is used in tournaments.
- allow for 20 or preferably 30 minute blind levels instead of the current 15 minutes.
- add in additional blind levels to allow for actual "poker" play instead of "all in or fold".
- host the quarterly tournament on a Friday or Saturday; starting at around 6pm.

The current blind structure is listed here, with proposed additions marked with an asterisk (*):
* 25/25
25/50
50/100
100/200
150/300
200/400
300/600
400/800
500/1,000
* 600/1,200
*800/1,600
1,000/2,000
...

Adding the 3 additional proposed blind levels, increasing the starting chip stack size, and bumping up the round time limit to 20 or 30 minute blind levels would create a more poker player friendly environment. It would also extend the the game by a couple hours, which should prove to have a positive impact on the host venue's revenue.

The current running time of the Quarterly Tournament has been between 4 to 5 hours. Increasing the chip stack size alone would have little to no effect on tournament time since players will still have a low chip to blind ratio at the higher levels. The combination of an increased chip stack and more time in each blind level would add a somewhat insignificant couple of hours to the tourney running time. These modifications are HIGHLY desired by virtually all pub poker players.

We are already spending 4.5 hours on the day of the quarterly tournament trying to win the grand prize; another 1 to 2 hours is miniscule. We have also spent AT LEAST 75 hours during the quarter amassing points to be able to play for this grand prize, with players who play 2, 3, or more days a week spending an incredible amount of time (150 to 500 hours) in the pub poker league. It's not favorable to have to gamble repeatedly with mid level hands just because one has only 4 times the big blind due to the "turbo" tournament structure.

Hosting a more competitive and challenging "poker" game for the grand prize could be achieved by incorporating these changes. All in favor, sign the petition!
