Comments: We need progressive taxation policies, measures to stop tax evasion and avoidance including overseas earnings and family trusts exemptions from estate duty, a Tobin Tax on financial transactions, a living minimum and a maximum wage.

Comments: A Green New Deal should include the immediate cancellation of Trident (and its high dollar costs) and the transfer of such funds to labour-intensive investment.

Comments: We certainly need to narrow the outrageous gap between rich and poor - more of the same will only take us back to the same unpalatable place and another recession in due course.

Comments: I went to seminar today and Public sector Finance staff are planning 7.5-15% cutbacks over next three years. When it was suggested this might make the overall position worse they all more or less accepted that govt cutbacks were inevitable. All that had held back cuts so far was the election. Treasury orthodoxy still rules!

Comments: The media is not representing this issue accurately - plain and simple. It's up to the enlightened members of the public to use the web and social media effectively in order to better communicate this message and ensure that as a nation, we aren't hoodwinking into reacting to the deficit hysteria.
