As some of you may have already heard, we have started a privately owned late night bus service known as The Buccaneer, or as what most students refer to as a “Drunk Bus.” The Buccaneer is a bus service that will run to and from the main apartment complexes and downtown Greenville. It will run on all nights that ECU Transit’s Pirate Express is not in operation. This will include Sunday through Wednesday nights, holiday weekends and also when class is not in schedule. Many have attempted this but in order for our business to be operational and abide by all city and state laws, this must be approved by the City of Greenville. This is where we need your help! On Thursday October 14, 2010 there is a public City Council Meeting in downtown Greenville. This is a public hearing where everyone and anyone are invited to voice their opinion on our proposal to start a mass transit system in Greenville. The Buccaneer is family owned and operated by The Rupp Group, LLC. Our main goal is to provide students with a safe alternative transportation to and from their home and the establishments located downtown. Our ultimate goal is to greatly reduce drinking and driving. Our fare based service of $1 per rider one way will provide a fun and safe way to travel to your destination. There has been minor opposition to our proposal from ECU Transit and we need your support. In order for this to be approved and begin operation as soon as possible, we need as many people to come out and show their support. Invite your friends, family, professors, business owners anyone and everyone to the meeting! If you're a student, resident of Greenville or anywhere else and support the idea of reducing drinking and driving to help better our community please sign this! The meeting will be held in the City Council Chambers on the third floor of City Hall located at 200 West Fifth Street.

Thanks for all the support!
