Name: David Ransom on Feb 20, 2004State: MACountry: USComments: I do not agree with a negative curve for students; however, I do agree that some students just don't try hard enough to be rewarded with the grades similar to those who do. While it really does hurt to see a student get a lower grade than they deserve, it is just as frustrating to watch a slacker reap any type of benefit reserved for those who sincerely try. But, we are not graded on effort, only output, so as a whole, I support open talks to change the grading system. Thank you to whoever took this initiative.Flag

Name: David Johannes on Feb 20, 2004State: IACountry: USComments: Our daughter was 5th in her HS class but at BU she is struggling to keep a B average so she can keep her scholarships and grants. Without them she will not be able to attend BU. She is working very hard and even gets tutors - only to recieve deflated grades!! It is not fair to get these students out there and treat them like they are undeserving of the grades they really earn.Flag
