Name: Anonymous on Mar 25, 2007Comments: Yes, let us hike the parking fees in Brookline! Currently, the price of parking in Brookline is 50% less that it is next door, in Boston. It is ironic because the median income of Brookline residents is many times that of Boston residents. In this context, the doubling parking fees in Brookline would unlikely cause economic hardship. It may even encourage residents and non-residents of the town to walk, bike, and take public transport to get to the stores. That would also be good for the environment by cutting traffic a bit. Doubling parking fees is a definite a win-win for the town and its children.Flag

Name: Lisa Goodheart on Mar 26, 2007Comments: Protecting the quality of the Brookline public school system is essential. Please let us avoid the harmful cutbacks that Superintendent Lupini will regrettably have no choice but to implement unless you take the necessary actions. Sufficient funding to maintain our school system should be at the top of the list of Town priorities.Flag

Name: Elizabeth Dalbeck on Mar 26, 2007Comments: Please seriously consider by raising parking meter fees and garbage ccllection fees. Also, consider putting in motorist speed traps at each school crossing zone (especially on Longwood Ave and Kent Streets). All this would ease the town's budget issues and support the education and safety of our children.Flag

With three children, it's extremely important to me that education remains among Brookline's highest priorities . We should do whatever it takes to keep our schools strong.Flag
