Name: Mrs Lesley Brown on Aug 26, 2010Comments: Bromsgrove station is in desparate need of upgrading. It could be used far more effectively and services could then be improved (or rather restored, eg services to Ashchurch, Cheltenham and Cardiff). Longer platforms mean that longer trains can be provided to alleviate the current overcrowding problems on the services to Birmingham & Worcester. More parking is needed at the station at a reasonable cost and this should not be paid to Bromsgrove District Council!!Flag

Name: Mr & Mrs R S Cox on Aug 29, 2010Comments: Bromsgrove town is enlarging, patrticularly to the East. A new railway station is an absolute necessity, not a luxury. Many residents commute to Birmingham - and further afield - on a daily basis and the number and length of existing trains is wholly inadequate. A new station development must include hugely increased parking facilities to reduce the large number of cars parked daily in local residential streets.Flag

Name: Christine Lloyd on Sep 5, 2010Comments: I feel that Bromsgrove has waited long enough for a new station. We have been the victims of empty promises for years. Even without all the new house building Bromsgrove Station struggled with comuters. I dread to think how anyone would cope now. I think that if I had to commute for work I would use my car. I really hope that this Petition helps win the new Station that Bromsgrove so richly deserves.Flag

Name: MIKE O'ROURKE on Sep 5, 2010Comments: Bromsgrove needs a new railway station as soon as possible. Many individuals work in Birmingham or Worcester and need to catch a train in order to get into work. Families would also want to catch the train to go shopping as taking the car is an expensive mode and the bus is both time consuming and sometimes inaccessible. However, the current situation is untenable. Trains cannot stop at the current station as it too small. Therefore, very few services can stop at the station. Those that do are overcrowded. Frankly I don't know why customers pay to get on a train if they cannot get a seat. Often customers have to stand together like a hurd of cattle. There is never any room on them and if a customer wants to get to anywhere long-distance such as Cardiff or the West Country they have to go into Birmingham and then out again. The thousands of taxpayers around the Bromsgrove area deserve and require an urgent upgrade to the status quo.Flag

Whilst efforts should be made to tighten the purse-strings of time/money wasting quangos; simultaneously effort and money should be re-directed into upgrading infrastructure in regions such as Bromsgrove to aid economic and enviromental recovery!Flag

Name: Alexander T Frame on Sep 11, 2010Comments: The current station is embarassingly poor. Facilities for the disabled are non-existent - apart from the too many parking places for them! Tiny shelters for the rain. Platform too short for the longer, more economic, rush-hour trains. Poor and expensive car parking facilities. Our Spanish relatives and friends can't believe how behind the times we are!Flag

Name: Susan L Hales on Sep 13, 2010Comments: We have been waiting for this new station to be built for many years now. We need to move into the 21st Century with a bigger car park to ease the car parking around the Village. More importantly we need to transport people around the area more quickly. Example:- if you want to go to Bournville Station you have to go ONE further station ahead, cross over the lines & catch a return train BACK for one stop, back to Bournville!!!Flag

Name: PETER O'CONNOR on Sep 13, 2010Comments: It is stupid that a large satellite town with a consistantly high commute to Birmingham should only have the facility for 2 car trains to stop. This situation must be rectified if we are to get people out of their cars.Flag
