Name: Chris Watson on Oct 14, 2002Comments: I would welcome BB to the borders, not necesarily with BT thou. I'm fed up with dropped lines and slow 33K connection. Additionaly the 2hr dropped line policy is absurd. Presently being a BT openworld 56K customer seems like being persicuted. The terms and conditions are continuously changeing. When I signed up it was unlimited anytime forFlag

Name: Alan Shafto on Oct 31, 2002Comments: I was one of the first people to register my interest in Broadband. As a web developer and Music Producer Broadband is essential for me to get my work across fast and efficient. I whole heartedly understand what you guys are doing and totally support you in your quest for quicker internet. Galashiels has Broadband Satellite available through the internet cafe Border .net Cafe. However the issue remains. I am about to submit a letter to the southern reporter again bringing to the fore the issues of a predjudiced company such as BT who have nothing better to do than line their own pockets and say to hell with Scotland. Funny how wee towns like drumnadrochit 20 miles outside Inverness who moan and get Broadband as a test for small communities! Totla BS anyway good luck gala is almost halfway now and hopefully will not be too long before we have it Might be worth getting in touch with MSP's and the Scottish Eneterprise Borders and give em hell as I am sure they have Satellite Broadband as well cheers Al Shafto HKUKFlag

Name: Len Douglas on Nov 8, 2002Comments: Virgin.net would not register me. I will not get it whether or not the Innerleithen exchange is enabled as I am some 10 kms from the exchange with a leaky cable giving download speeds of 0.5 Kb/s to 5 Kb/s depending on the weather. BT has already told me that as my phone rings and I can hear the caller speak, that is the extent of service they supply. A new (affordable) technology is required.Flag

Name: Andrew Findlay on Nov 23, 2002Comments: I put a petition in Gordon general Store and got dozens of signatures. The petition also covered general upgrading of the exchange: we can't use 1571, 5, reminder call, home highway and various other features. I rang BT to ask where I should send the petition and they were very unhelpful. As a result I am going to register all the names and numbers individually by phone with BT Broadband. Gordon is not yet even on a trigger list and the chances of success are slim.Flag

Name: Stewart Maguire on Dec 4, 2002Comments: I have been waiting for ADSL for over 4 years and I have just about lost my patience with BT's ridiculous rollout scheme, I refuse to believe that it is financially unviable to enable an exchange where almost 150 people are waiting to sign-up. To add insult to injury BT now appear to be effectively blocking other telecomms comapnies from moving in where they choose not to. It's high time OFTEL earned it's money and did something about BT's blatant monopolistic practises. If Microsoft get sued for it I don't see why BT doesn't.Flag
