Help make internet access available for all Americans! At least 114 million adults in the United States are either completely unconnected to the Internet or rely on dialup connections. Most of these Americans come from low-income households or live in rural or inner-city settings that the existing providers refuse to serve. Students from households that make less than $20,000 a year are much less likely to have Internet access. Current prices for broadband in the United States are among the highest in the world. That means many Americans are denied access to services and opportunities only available via the Internet. It also means America is behind many other countries where affordable broadband is widely available - and falling further behind. You can help bring fast, free and family-friendly broadband to all Americans. You hold the key to getting America connected. Make your voice heard. Sign the petition and let Washington know that all Americans deserve free broadband now. Visit www.freebroadbandnow.org to learn more, sign the petition and tell your congressperson!

Sue G, United States2 years ago Comments: They won't make internet free. The big corporate giants won't make their almightly buck off us. They want us to believe we need the internet. They have instilled in our psyche that we have to have internet then they go all the way to the bank laughing at us. We are being spied upon when we are paying for internet service. Soon CSPA will begin and we will lose our privacy rights. I think people should ban the internet if only for awhile. Go back to using the home phone, the post office for mail, going to people's homes to visit, etc. Let's see what the corporate giants do when they lose our money. They will go into complete panic mode and they well deserve it. Oh, that's right Al Gore said he intevented the internet. What a joke. Another thing that makes me sick is they use children and con them into beleiving they need the internet. Children are vulnerable and beleive anything said to them. No, they will never allow free internet. I remember years ago that there was free e-mail, but not anymore. I used to have free e-mail from a company and I wish I could remember the name of it, but it doesn't do it anymore. Internet is not internet, it's all money and we, the consumer's get sucked into it. It's time to turn the pages. What does it take for consumers to see they are being scammed. What will it take for consumers to wake up and see how they are being scammed. I see the Facebook sign is on this site. Another big corporate giant stealing our information and sharing with all. Suckerburg is living the high life and we are paying the price. Sad, sad, sad. Just to many naive people out there and will always fall into the big giants traps and the government traps.
