This is the first of many petitions and activities to come in support of the Students of the Criminal Justice Program and not only us, but for the other Students of SU as well, but this particular petition is mainly focused on giving our students a chance to be heard and fighting for their futures. I am fighting to retain the position of Dr. Russell Dawkins, who has been dedicating his time to ensure that we as Criminal Justice students get what we need to meet graduation requirements. Some of you know that Dr. Dawkins had many courses listed for Summer School and has already started to plan courses for the Fall. He has asked that the students come in and let him know what courses they needed and would like to have offered, so that he could be able to accomodate us in any way possible. But because of poor administration in the department and their selfishness, they have dismantled every course he had placed online for registeration. Not to mention, it is Dr. Dawkins who has gotten the staff, we needed so that we could even go to class and remember he nor our other professors are being compensated for their time in educating us. I feel that he should continue to help our department thrive, he is doing what he can for the Students, not himself. We as students should not be afraid to speak on issues concerning us and our futures. Many of you are afraid that you will not be able to graduate and get your diploma, but what you fail to understand is that if you don't have courses and you don't have the professors to teach the courses, then how will you get your diploma. So please help me in fighting for our future and the futures of the youth that come behind us. Thank You, Brittany V. Rogers
