Over the past 15 years, pop superstar Britney Spears has both entertained and enraged the general public with her great songs, amazing performances, and her controversial moments.

In January 1999, at the young age of 17, Britney Spears released her debut album ...Baby One More Time. The album was preceded by the worldwide hit that was it's title track. The video, which featured Spears having fun around school, was controversial for having her wearing a Catholic school girl outfit with her midriff showing. Also assisted by WW hits "Sometimes" and "(You Drive Me) Crazy", the album is her best selling, with over 30 million copies sold WW. The next year, in May of 2000, Spears released her sophomore album Oops!...I Did It Again. The album, which featured the hits "Oops!...I Did It Again", "Lucky", and "Stronger", was less successful overall than her debut, but was still a huge seller, with 25 million copies sold WW. In November of 2001, Britney released her self-titled 3rd disc. The lead single "I'm A Slave 4 U" was highly controversial, as the then-21 year old singer started to include highly suggestive dance moves and lyrics in her music. One performance of the song, at the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards, had Britney dancing with a snake on stage, and was heavily criticized. Due to a contract disagreement regarding her tour for this album (the Dream Within A Dream tour), she was blacklisted from most radio stations, causing most of the singles on the album to fail chart-wise. The album, which sold 15 million copies WW, was a big seller, but still sold considerably less than her previous albums. 2 years later, Britney returned with In The Zone, an album with themes of adulthood and sexuality that ended her transition from teen pop star to adult dance diva. With hits like the Madonna collaboration "Me Against The Music", "Toxic", and "Everytime", Britney returned to the top of the charts. Overall, In The Zone has sold 10 million copies WW. Following a 3 year break, Britney released her 5th album Blackout in late 2007. The fact that the album received very positive reviews was overshadowed by the controversy surrounding Britney herself. However, the album was able to produce the hits "Gimme More", "Piece Of Me", and "Break The Ice". The album has sold over 3 million copies WW. After the controversy of the Blackout era, Britney came back stronger than ever with Circus. The album was able to produce the hits "Womanizer", "Circus", and "If U Seek Amy", and has sold over 4.5 million copies WW. Her last studio album, 2011's Femme Fatale, was another hit for Britney, as it had the hits "Hold It Against Me", "Till The World Ends", and "I Wanna Go".

However, through all of her career, none of her albums have been released on vinyl. As you may or may not know, vinyl provides a certain "warmth" or "crisp" sound to the listening experience. When music is transferred to a CD, it cannot retain the same quality as it could on a vinyl record. However, fans of these albums have no way to listen to these albums closer to the way intended. Also, as with many artists, Britney Spears has a large following that collects different versions of her releases. However, unlike other big pop names like Madonna and Lady Gaga, Britney doesn't have vinyl versions of her albums. A vinyl release, whether in a box-set or sold separately, would surely appease those who have wanted her albums on vinyl for a long time.
