Bring Urban AC to Albany on 104.9
To: Chuck Benfer, General Manager, Pamal Broadcasting There's a big hole in the Albany market that'd fit a perfect niche: today's R&B and classic soul. When 104.9 Love FM disappeared from the Albany airwaves after Christmas 2004, it changed to Froggy, then the Edge, and now Cat Country. Cat Country (or a Froggy 107.1 simulcast) would be better off on the stronger 100.9 signal (why didn't they put country there? the Bridge was basically dilapidated from its launch), and bring Urban AC to Albany on 104.9! Seriously... there's no place for Jennifer Hudson, Erykah Badu, or 70s/80s R&B/soul artists like Chaka Khan or Debarge on the Albany airwaves. It'd be a valuable niche in Albany... Christian music listeners have 96.7, modern rock listeners have 102.7 in Vermont, but there's nothing for today's R&B and classic soul.
