The Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty exhibition, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, closed on Monday (August 8, 2011), after becoming one of the most successful shows in the museum's history. Despite the huge success there are NO plans to tour the exhibition, and NO plans to bring the exhibition home to London. This is despite huge public demand in Britain and the willingness of the Victoria & Albert Museum to host the show. So what's going wrong? We need to convince the Alexander McQueen business, those - including Daphne Guinness - who loaned pieces to the Met show and the brilliant creative team behind Savage Beauty that it would be a scandal if the McQueen exhibition did not come home to London. Come on! Alexander McQueen was born, raised and educated in London. He trained to be a designer at the world famous St Martin's School of Art in London. His business was based in London. He was inspired and galvanised by London, as are the team that carry on the business in his name. Everyone who signs this petition signs it because we want to see the Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty exhibition in its homeland, where it belongs. Lets do it!
