This page is to help get support to bring my son Dylan back to his home school. Dylan was illegally removed from his home school at Westernport Elm. School, to be sent to Cash Valley elm in Lavale, md. I have been battling this for 3 years now. What started it all was when When Dylan was in WES they put him in a room with only 2 other disabled students, he ate in that closed up room, he did basicly everything in there. He was not included in with regular classes. So i called for a iep meeting and asked for the Board of Education Special Education Executive Director Sheree Witt to help Dylan because he was being treated like a monster, she was on my side, she said she would be at the iep meeting to help me out. Well things wasnt like that at all, Sheree Witt lied to me, she wasnt there to help Dylan, She was there to dicriminate just like the rest of the iep team. Thats when the idea for Dylan to be moved to Cash Valley occurred. I said now no how. Well it ended up in a Due Process hearing . Well that was a joke too. I didnt have a lawyer and i couldnt afford one and the The Maryland Disability Law Center didnt have any lawyers available at the time . So last years school year i wasnt allowed to send Dylan back to his home school, they already transferred his school records to Cash Valley in the summer , with out me saying they could do that. So the begining of the school year of 06 i had no other choice than to send Dylan to Cash Valley. He was placed in a classroom with 4th and 5th grade students with disabilites, then they moved him to another classroom with 5 students with disablities, he was not included with regular kids. This year Dylan is in the same classroom with the same students, this room is small has nothing in it and no windows. He is not inclded, Dylan hasnt brought home any home work or work he has done yet this year. I have Dylan potty trained at home , but the school is not working with him in that, they make him wait every 90 minutes before they allow him to go to the bathroom. Dylan likes to hug and kiss people on the cheeks, that the nature of Down Syndrome they love to hug and kiss , well the school punishes him for it calling it improper behavior. He rides a bus 1 hour and 15 minutes in the morning and the same for the afternoon so that puts him on a bus for more that 10 hours a week. Im preparing now for a Iep meeting to Bring my son back in his home school where he belongs, i have help this time, i need supporters to help support him. If they deny him the move i will have this on the news and in the papers. Please show your support for Dylan
