Name: William Rogan on Mar 23, 2010Comments: I used to love the 'Moviedrome' set up BBC2 had years ago, it would be amazing to bring that back, but if not, a few weird, cult, interesting movies that folk are not that aware of, would be pretty good, and would get good ratings. The Moviedrome presentation would bring more attention to teh films though and get bigger ratings. They used to do double bills, one well known film and one very cult movie, that was a good way of bringing mainstream folk in and introducing them to the lesser known stuff.Flag

I say we take advantage of this loophole by showing a double bill of horror films, once a week, make them real scary and gory, just like the good old days! do this and i'll buy a 2nd TV licence,Deal?Flag

Name: Jonathan Beckett on Mar 24, 2010Comments: Please bring back the horror double bill. As television channels carry on through the night now, I can't see any problem in accomplishing that as the Beeb managed it in the days when channels cut off at 1-2 in the morning.Flag

Name: Himadri Chatterjee on Mar 24, 2010Comments: I introduced my teenage daughter to classic horror films via DVD, and now she has become an aficionado. If BBC is worried about not being able to attract a young audience with these films, I’d suggest that all they really need is a bit of exposure. After all, “Carry On” films have acquired a new generation of viewers, so there’s no reason why Hammer horrors shouldn’t.Flag

Name: James Greene on Mar 26, 2010Comments: If Shock Theater never happened across the USA's airwaves back in the sixties a whole generation of monster movie fans would have been watching Jerry Lewis instead. Instead, a lasting movement was formed, and magazines like Famous Monsters were an integral part of that movement. The BBC should do what's right and heed the need for good honest harmless classic horror, the antidote for the (for the most part) gratuitously bloody, poorly written and acted movies that we are subjected to today.Flag
