Bring it back
I grew up with and discovered many many fine genre films from the BBC double bills, it started and fueled a passion that still runs strong to this very day. I'd like the BBC to bring these back as what can be better than having a few beers with your buddies watching these great old films and what better way for a new generation to discover these classics that they would maybe never bother with in this day and age?

These films have been soooo lacking and missed on a Saturday night for far too long, bring back some classic horror programming!
I would love to see again so many of the classic horror films that never seem to be shown these days, with the exception of a few on the Horror Channel- and those always seem to be the same ones.
Bring back good old fashioned horror with lots of blood and haunted houses
Please bring back the Saturday night horror double bill on BBC-2 ! I'm sure the reason these classic horror films are not shown, is because the schedulers are all about 12 years old and don't know them, remember them, or understand that they still have a huge following!

Cater for everybody. There is a place for vintage horror films that involved talent and artistry...many great individuals who deserve to be remembered and their work shown. How much would it cost to obtain rights to classic fantasy films from the silent era through to the mid 80s?
Brings back many happy memories trying to stay awake for the 2nd feature !

Aged 9 or 10 I watched my first horror double bill,Lugosi as Dracula and Karloff playing the monster to Colin Clive's Frankenstein.My old man sat with me in case I got freaked.Best memory I have of him.

Can never get enough of the monsters, Wish I could find the old Radio Times with the article on "Dracula, Frankenstein & Friends" Glorious times !

I'd love to see classic horror double bills back on the BBC. Could we also have a suitably ghoulish horror host too?
This would be a wonderful addition to the BBC's line-up. It would allow a younger audience access to these classic movies. Mix it with newer stuff too.

Hammer Horror and Amicus and Universal Horror fantastic films had fond memories from the 70'80's watching them on Saturday Nights on BBC2 Be brilliant to see this happen again especially now that BBC Channels are in HD

The BBC (rather like Tarantino) can turn their hand to anything and expertly create innovative new things that feel classic - I'd love to see them do that with Horror. xx
Anyone else remember Dr Terror, who used to do little horror links between the films ? I think he was on BBC1 and BBC2 in the early to mid-nineties. Bring back the Dr !
This campaign may seem needlessly nostalgic, but it is getting increasingly difficult to see films - whether horror or not - older than 15-20 years.

Any kind of horror films would be something these days??!!
Yes, it was the extra channels that killed TV because before it there was only so many and it was a healthy competition for the viewers. That way the BBC was guaranteed to show horror and have them watched by a healthy audience rating. But you can see many still think something of it. Loved Fear on Friday and Dr terror too.

I miss quality tv, have to rely on dvd's for my entertainment these days!
We want our Classic Horror Films!! A whole generation is missing out on an important part of British culture...
I grew up with these films and they helped to make me into the film lover and professional cartoonist I am today. I fondly remember these wonderful double bills and would love to see them return.

To have seasons of supernatural and sci-fi films, coupled with documentaries on each one-covering the actors and directors, and source material might be nice. Also how about seeing some non-US/UK films, again with accompanying commentaries.?
yes, my childhood was spent watching fri and Saturday night horror films on bbc 1 and two..pls return them to the screen.

I support this petition as i love Peter Cushing/Christopher lee and all there films, its a hertiage that should be kept alive and remember these 2 fine actors who dedicated there lives to give us great horrors stories without them horror films would of not been so good.

I was brought up on the bbc2 double bill of horror movies during the 70's and 80's. Would love to see them back so I could watch them again but this time with my zombie mad teenage son !
