Name: Anonymous on Nov 13, 2007Comments: You have put up signs warning others of the dangers and made a helmet mandatory. Judgement on the ability of the skier/snowboarder to handle such stunts should be the individuals responsibility. Snowboarding will never be a low injury risk sport. There is nothing you can do. If you take the jumps away they will find something else which may very well be more dangerous or you will have many people venture into the backcountry to build jumps which is also more dangerousFlag

Name: Ryan Wilson on Nov 13, 2007Comments: If RCR removes jump parks it may have a negative effect for certain resorts. This would be fine for Kimberly or Nakiska, but for Lake Louise to lose their jump park most likely will deter the majority of Bow Valley locals to Sunshine or Kicking Horse (myself included). The only reason we ride lake louise is for a) The Backside and b) the park jumps. Louise does not get enough snow to warrent going there other than a powder day (which cannot compete with Sunshine or Kicking Horse powder days). If the park jumps are eliminated - so goodbye to any more local support - which was already dwindling drrastically due to RCR's poor operatiion of their resorts. (increasing prices due to un-necessary infrastructure, poor customer service) I love Lake Louise but without the jump park... does it drop to 20th on the better hills of Canada list I think so. Louise NEEDS their jump park. Wake up! It's not Whitewater or Powderking getting 1400 cm per season. It's 500 in a longer season. I suppose really it would just turn lake louise into a skiier only hill - fine by me, we'll go somewhere where we are appreciated.Flag

Name: Matthew Goodwin on Nov 13, 2007Comments: this is the most backwards step in winter sports EVER, with little consideration to the safety of people who will now be forced to build there own jumps off piste, these will be unmaintained, unmarked and a potential hazzard for everyone. thanks alot RCR if i had'nt already got a pass i wouldnt be comming to one of your resorts.Flag

Name: Ross MacKimmie on Nov 13, 2007Comments: The parks are a feature of Lake Louise that I use to justify spending 1000 dollars on a ski pass. Come the spring, it is my favorite thing to do at the end of the day. Please reconsider your decision.Flag

Name: Jackie Powell on Nov 13, 2007Comments: If this is true it's either going to a)push people into more dangerous backcountry zones (unsafely); b)push people away from the resorts all together...and THAT'S probably not a huge number of people but still... Also...peolpe are just going to keep on kicking and screaming until they come back and big jumps have never been "safe" but you just have to learn how to use them properly... Maybe RCR could implement some sort of a training program hahaFlag

Name: Jay Friesen on Nov 13, 2007Comments: With all the strife that I see on the hill each time I ride between patrons of all levels, I find it hard to believe that removing the recongnizable spot designated for people who want to be slightly more reckless will ease tensions between the abilities of hill users. Perhaps you should look at the bleed over into all areas of the hill before you ignore the tangential aspects of having a developed park. All the best, I'll see you when you see the error of your ways.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Nov 13, 2007Comments: I bought a superpass last year and as well as this year based on how great RCR ran the resort and maintained it. If no jumps are built this year I will feel cheated out of over a $1000 of hard earned money.Flag

Name: Lauren Goss on Nov 13, 2007Comments: The terrain parks at RCR ski hills were a great way of getting kids into sports. New school skiing is a huge sport still on the rise and some of the best talent comes from local Alberta and BC skiiers and snowboarders. By talking away these parks you are taking away the opportunities of many young riders. Make the parks not avaliable to public but to kids that have signed waivers, have helmets, and have an extra pass, but completley removing the parks is not the answer.Flag
