Shelley | I no longer listen to Air America in the mornings. As a reasonably intelligent progressive, the pain generated by listening to Lionel is akin to stabbing myself in the eye with a large fork. Bring back Sam!
Seames O'Grady |
Ansel Toutsch |
Barb LaCasse |
Carol Johnson | I wrote to Air America to protest the moving of Sam's show to Sunday. Of course, never received any kind of a reponse. Air America seems to feel that its listeners are expendable. One more time: please bring the Sam Seder Show back to weekdays so he may continue to update progressive listeners who appreciate his intellect, humor, and compassion.
Anonymous | replacing sam w/ lionel is an insult to our intelligence
Kate Anne Brennan | Sam Seder is special and is missed by lots of folks. I tried Lionel. Cannot stand his voice and his sarcastic ways but worse than that is certain political stands. (He doesn't understand campaign finance reform and public financed elections! Egad!) Sam on the other hand has charm and humor and is solid on his liberal positions. Sam on Monday mornings at 9 AM made the work week ahead seem so much better.
| 458 | Anonymous | Mr. Green,
You have done such a disservice to Air America by replacing the wonderful Sam Seder with Lionel. I have given up trying to listen to the Lionel show. There really is not point, he is not a progressive. Please, please reinstate the Sam Seder and reinstate your listeners. |
Carol Kain | In Albuquerque, I have had access to Lionel since Air America came on the air but I never have listened to his boring shows. I love Sam Seder and since Albuquerque never carried his show at a reasonable hour, I streamed it or listened to Santa Fe's AAR to meet my needs. Please give the time slot back to Sam.
Ed Seager | Sam should have never been replaced, he was and is one of the brightest and most informed not to metion entertaining host AAR has ever had, who you going to replace next? Randi Rhodes? You should check Lionels ratings no one I know will listen to him.
Scott Harrison | I want sedar back, NOW!
Athena |
Lee Baxter | Bring back Sam. This is ludicrous. The former suits at AAR ran the thing into the ground ~ I'm told ~ because of no experience with the radio business AND because of a philosophical determination to stifle progressive/liberal talk. Dismissing Mike Malloy was a very good example of giving credence to the rumors. I had high hopes for AAR when it was sold to the current management, but now I'm beginning to wonder if we haven't been given just more of the same. If you're not going to provide listeners with real progressive programming, then why not be honest about it and let Randi, Rachel, Sam, and the other remaining progressive hosts be free to make new deals with NovaM? It is clear that Sheldon and Anity Drobny are not playing these bait and switch games that have been visited upon us by AAR and XM. I will NOT become any kind of paid subscriber to either one until and unless I can see some evidence of commitment to progressive thinking. Lionel ain't it. Neither is Ed Schultz who is sucking up the XM space that should have been filled by Thom Hartmann on Ch. 167. Bring back Sam.

Elizabeth A. Taylor | I heartily agree with all of the points made in the petition. Sam Seder has long ago proven that his creative programming easily fills three hours of a five weekday program schedule and only three hours a week is certainly not enough to cover all of the important issues which Sam obviously wants to cover.

Anonymous | lionel substitues rudness to progresives for intellectual discussion. sam seder has the intelligence that made for a great talk show.
Brent Courtney | For the love of God, bring Sam back!!
kathy curley |
Miriam Berman |
Michael Nees | What a contrast between Thom Hartman and this joker! How can AAR not see how insulting, lame and arrogant LeBron is when you have the shining example of Thom Hartman as a template? I know that you want to offer a variety of formats and styles, but c'mon. If progressives want to be insulted, we can turn to Limbaugh. At least he has some talent.
Tracy Volpe | I never thought I would be wishing for Al Franken to come back! Thom @ 9, Sam @ noon!
Anonymous | Lionel's interaction (or lack thereof) with callers can be infuriating, especially since he frequently misses their point. Please get rid of this obnoxious boor and bring Sam back to brighten our mornings.
s nolan |
cecil anderson |
Janice Brown | There is no substitute for The Sam Seder Show. Eventually, there won't be an Air America because without revenue, no radio station can survive. If they lose Randi, it's a wrap! We all know that if there are any Sam Seder fans listening to Lionel, it's only because everyday we tune in at 9:00am hoping to hear Sammy saying something like "Well, folks, we've seen it all now. Dick Cheney has completely lost it...not a part of the Executive Branch..."etc..instead, we get, "Today, in module one...the making ritual of the Tsetse Fly..what?" that's about as far as we get before the reality that another day without Sam Seder to uplift our miserable lives, once again smacks us right in the face. It physically hurts. Am I wrong?
Mitchell Angel | It's unbelieveable what you have done. BRING BACK SAM SEDER NOW!!!!!
| 480 | mcarthur | lionel is offensive, piss-poor radio, and the furthest thing from progressive I can imagine.
Please reinstate Sam Seder! |
Anonymous | I cannot believe Sam Seder has been reduced to the one Sunday show which is no way hardly enough time to review the news of the week. you, mgreen, have definitely lost minions of Sam S followers as he was/is the best voice on radio barnone. His combination of wit, humor and news analysis cannot be matched. Bring back Sam to a full weekday slot..asap.
Donn | Lionel sucks... Bring back SAM!!!
Anonymous | Please return Sam Seder to Air America's 9 a.m. morning slot and end boredom. Sam is brilliant, articulate, well-informed and exciting. He's a progressive liberal and that's what the core of the Democratic Party wants to hear.
Anonymous | Please return Sam Seder to Air America's 9 a.m. morning slot and end boredom. Sam is brilliant, articulate, well-informed and exciting. He's a progressive liberal and that's what the core of the Democratic Party wants to hear.
terra | Please bring back Sam Seder. Lionel is no Sam Seder, who is articulate, passionate, and in tune with the listeners of AA. Sam was able to consistently and intelligently discuss issues of the day with thoughtful commentary and lively banter, and Lionel clearly fails at all of these. Please bring back Sam Seder.
kristi roenning | Finally some one has articulated how totally untalented, unlistenable, unintelligent, unenlightening this "Lionel" is. The show is an insult to faithful Air America listeners. I have really cut back my listening since his arrival. Bring back Sam and his entertaining, intelligent, informative show!!!!! I enthusiastically sign this petition.
Cartier Andrew Caldwell | Please find bring back Sam Seder or syndicate The Stephanie Miller Show, but Lionel has to go. I've tried listening to him formally in the evening and now here in the mornings, but he is still boring. Thank you
Anonymous | Please return Sam Seder to Air America five days a week. He's too smart &has a great show to only be on air 3 hours a week. Lionel reeks too.
Chris Jones | Dump Lionel
Tim Widowfield | If you don't appreciate the value of Sam Seder, then I hope he will move to a truly progressive network like Nova M, who won't shove him aside. As for Lionel, I can't stand listening to pseudo-intellectual libertarian frauds, but I'm not surprised to hear that he blames his listeners for not tolerating a Nazi.

Helyne May |
Diane Sloan | Amen! I have stopped listening to Air America, which is a grief to me. Lionel is illogical and shrill and I cannot listen to him. Please, please, please bring back Sam. His show is intelligent, compassionate, researched and funny. The Lionel show is none of these things.
Danny Cramer |
Suzie Halbardier |
Donna Kandel |
Victoria Mariocca | I have stopped listening to AAR from 9-12, because I can't stand Lionel. He is annoying and he can't compare to Sam Seder's show. When are you going to come to your senses and put Sam back every day.
Margaret Mew | I'm a premium subscriber--don't know if I'll sunscribe next year now that Malloy and Seder are gone/limited.
Leland Mew | Bring back Sam!.
Evan Mew | Sam is much better than Lionel!!!
