As I take some time to reflect on what has been perhaps the most incredible (and exhausting) past few days of my life, as I'm sure it has been for all Phillies fans, the reality of it all is finally setting in. WE ARE THE WORLD CHAMPIONS OF BASEBALL and no one can ever take that from us. This title is especially meaningful because winning it all is so much sweeter when you're rooting for a team that makes you feel that you're a part pf it. A team like this, which is full of a bunch of likeable guys that we can relate to, that can bring something like this to a city that so desperately needed it is priceless. And that's just it - this is a TEAM. From the coaches to the players to yes, even the ownership, this is truly the definition of the word team. It's all kind of bittersweet though, because game 5 of the 2008 World Series could quite possibly be our most tenured player's last game in a Phillies uniform. We haven't always been kind to Pat Burrell, but over the past few seasons he has surely won our hearts. I don't know about anyone else, but I cannot imagine Pat in another uniform and frankly, I don't want to. I know at the end of the day this is a business. I know that next season money will be an issue. But I also know that I WANT PAT BURRELL IN WHITE AND RED PINSTRIPES FOR YEARS TO COME AND I AM NOT ALONE IN THAT SENTIMENT. It really seems like Pat loves this city and wants to be back. We can make this happen! Please sign this and forward it to any other Phillies fan you know so our voices can be heard. PLEASE BRING PAT BACK!
