Sara Blaney | I completely support taxing single use plastic bags!
Anonymous | I fully support the tax on plastic bags and maybe it could be higher!!

Leesha | I'm all for it, people should get in the habit of bringing their own bags. Where would the $0.15 per plastic bag go?
Jenn | It's a small price to pay to stop filling the land fills. One plastic bag can take over 150 years to break down.
Samantha Sayer | something needs to be done..or maybe even stopping stores from using them at all and sell cloth re-usable ones and ppl will be forced to use them. if stores slowly stopped using plastic bags ppl would catch on.. its not that hard to do, its not the fact that ppl hate cloth bags but the plastic ones are so much easier and the stores offer them so its up to you to do something.

amanda poon | At my work we take 5 cents off when people bring in their own bags. this is a pretty successful program that builds incentive for people to stop taking plastic. If people actually had to pay for bags, they would definitely start bringing their own.

Joming Lau | single use plastic bags last for thousands of years,.. why are we designing them for last so long? what we need is the function of the plastic bag, not the physical object itself. We need something that is light, convenient, and durable. There are many alternatives that we need to look at, and I feel like this tax will drive innovation to find relevant and appropriate solutions!

Megan | I have collected a variety of cloth bags over the years and I will do everything I can to not take plastic bags when I buy something. I wish everyone would do the same, but since they likely won't do it on their own, I think that a tax would make people think twice before taking a plastic bag.

Lisa Jensen | I am a full-time student who has worked at various locations as a cashier to make a little living money, and it's disgusting how many people use plastic bags. Not everybody cares about the environment, so I believe it's up to the government to step up and give people another reason not to take a plastic bag, and (unfortunately) money will often speak loudest. Please, let's make re-usable bags the norm!
Sarah Conner | For years I have been bringing a bag everywhere I go. They are infinetly useful aswell as one of the easiest things a person can do to maintain their environmental self concious.

Barbara | I have recently bought two big reusable shopping bags and I feel good about not having to add to the already huge pile of plastic bags in my house. By adding the 15 cents charge to plastic bags should help people be more aware of the plastic bag issues and to do their part. However, it may also be good to offer free reusable shopping bags to those who are on fixed incomes and/or can't afford them.
crystal lang | please start to use biodegradable or eco friendly bags!
Liz Malinka | Always carry a cloth bag with me, do away with plastic or charge the tax or better yet make some biodegradable plastic!
