In light of the fact that Baltimore City consumers' options for high-speed internet are severely limited, this is a formal request to ask Verizon to make an investment in Baltimore City by beginning to roll out FIOS service.

Currently, the only real options available for high speed internet are DSL through a phone company (typically limited to 5Mbps which is incredibly slow for 2016) or Comcast, which has a host of reliability problems and asymmetric speeds. City residents are currently a captive market in search of better providers.

By signing this petition, we're asking Verizon to begin rolling out a fiber-optic-to-the-home network in Baltimore City and expressing interest to become FIOS customers in order to create an incentive for, and minimize the risk to, Verizon offering their services in the Baltimore City market place, including high speed internet, as well as phone and TV over fiber.
