Dear Ubisoft,

We, the long-lasting, long-standing, devout fans of the Splinter Cell series, are deeply dismayed by your decision to replace a terrific actor Michael Ironside as a voice of our much-loved character Sam Fisher in the new Splinter Cell: Blacklist game, and thus we seriously ask you to reconsider your position. 

Throughout the past five editions of our favourite game, we have grown to assimilate Sam Fisher with that particular voice and we foresee the change you are about to implement as having a huge, damaging impact on the series. As you may be aware, due to changes in gameplay in the previous two editions (e.g. mark and execute), some fans had already raised concerns on “playability” of the series, and now losing the remarkable voice of our protagonist will probably be the final nail in Sam’s coffin.

In conclusion, we hope you can see our concerns, and understand that by changing one of the most recognisable attributes of Sam Fisher – his voice – you take away a (large) part of his character. We hope it is not too late to rectify this lapse of judgement, and we look forward to welcome Sam Fisher back, with his memorable, original voice, upon the release.
