On behalf of Baseball PEI, this petition is to help bring lights to the McNeill baseball field in Stratford, PE. Right now there are 2 fields in this area, the smaller field having lights. McNeill Field has potential to be one of the nicest and most used fields in Prince Edward Island; great location, grass infield and lots of teams that are able to use it. Baseball on PEI is continuing to grow and we at Baseball PEI are extremely happy to see this happen. Just since last year we had an increase of almost 300 kids register for baseball. With this increase in players, there is an increase in teams and a much higher need for field time. In the Eastern part of Prince Edward Island there are only 2 Bantam + size fields that have lights, Memorial Field in Charlottetown and Church Field in Morell. With Memorial Field already being used an incredible amount, there is no where left for teams in the Charlottetown and surrounding areas to play at night. With lights at McNeill Field in Stratford: - More games can be played - Practice time for teams will increase - Provincial teams can get more practice time - Able to hold bigger Provincial, Atlantic, and National events - More options for Kings County Baseball League play (season usually goes well into October) - Baseball on PEI will continue to grow with more opportunity to play Thank you all for your interest and support!
We would like to support the idea of adding lights to the McNeill field. it would lighten the load on other fields in the area. by adding the lights it would mean extending the day meaning more teams could use the field.
great ! finally some people are starting to think baseball , so much potienal to strive forward for minor baseball systems and teams with two great baseball diamonds with lights and so close to each other .the kids wii love it!
The city needs more then one venue with lights.. It will bring more opportunity and $$ to the local economy!
