This is a petition from the fans of F1 demanding the return of high-revving V10 engines from the 2030 FIA Formula 1 World Championship season onward.

While we as fans embrace the the extreme importance of green technology, and we certainly appreciate the hybrid technology and engineering currently deployed in F1 power units, we simply do not like how the current power units have robbed F1 of its signature song and have robbed the fans (you know, the folks you want to sell your product to?) of the other-worldy scream and overall viceral experience we adore. Not even the previous generation V8 engines captivated F1 fans to the same extent as the V10 engines did.

We are not asking engine manufacturers to abandon all their outstanding hybrid technologies. We are asking the engine (power unit) manufacturers to please reinstate the 3 liter V10 layout, keep the VITAL ultra-high revving (18,000+ plus RPM) aspect, make the engines as loud as possible and, incorporate a sensible level of hybrid technologies into the overall power unit design. Sound-sucking TURBOS ARE NOT REQUIRED.

As fans, we wholeheartedly understand the importance of F1 being a testing ground for new road car technologies and, we understand and appreciate the importance of the 'win on Sunday, sell on Monday' aspect of manufacturer involvement in the sport. What we wish to convey in this petition is that we want a compromise. We ask that you give back to us a F1 that we enjoy, and a F1 that once again enchants us, enthralls us, delivers excellent racing, and sends shivers down our spines when the cars come screaming past at over 18,000 rpm.

As the fans of this much loved sport, we hereby formally ask those who control the sport of F1 to please restore the the most divine mechanical engineering song ever created: BRING BACK OUR V10's FROM THE 2021 SEASON ONWARD!

Sincerely,

Those who support your industry

I'm from India. Please bring back the high revving engines. Most of the F1 fans were first attracted to the sport by that screaming engine sound alone. It energizes every fan in the track when a F1 car passes by. Now its just dumb.

I took a friend to an F1 during the V8 era and was embarrassed and disappointed because I had hyped up the event so much due to the fact that the previous race I attended ran the V10 engines. How do I feel about attending F1 events now? SNORE !!!!!!

Have watched every single F1 race since 1991 and been to many races live and for the first time since then I actually consider letting F1 go as it doesn't give me the thrill anymore as it did with the V10's. Please bring back the heart and soul of F1 again!

Incorporate hybrid technology but not sound muffling turbos. The cars only race for a max 2 hours, they don't need to save that much fuel which robs us of the F1 screaming excitement and raw awesomeness for the newcomers. Good luck

I was too young to have known the V10s. However I became a fan of F1 at the onset of the 2011 season and quickly learned F1 inside and out. These new engines aren't "signature" F1 - I think they belong to another division entirely!

the v10 is pure perfection it's a pure noise it's much better than we have at the moment why don't they put a hybrid v10 out see how that goes if the wec can do it why can't f1 it's worth giving it try also it would reduce costs as simple engine with hybrid technology

These new regulations are anti racing and need to be changed
