The fans of Connecticut have not forgotten Peter Karmonos Jr. for taking the Hartford Whalers out of the state of Connecticut. Mr. Karmonos had a legal right to do so, but out respect to the fans of Connecticut, he should have left the Whaler name with the State of Connecticut because: 1. The name is synonymous with Hartford and the state of Connecticut. 2. The name and logo are not being used. If Mr. Karmonos is really "a civic-minded business man, philanthropist and sports fan", as his web page (http://www.karmanosunplugged.com/) states that he is, then we request that Mr. Karmonos relinquish control of the Hartford Whalers naming and logo rights to the state of Connecticut for future use as a professional sports team in the state of Connecticut.
